Is there a market for older coin books? My father has hundreds of coin books from the 50'-90's. There are also hundreds upon hundreds of older magazines and old coin world and numismatic news magazines.

Absolutely. Some are pretty much only collectible, but others are sought out as references, even if they are old. It depends on the book. Magazines and journals tend to be relevant even if they are old, since they may have collector census data or other articles that are not easy to find in print elsewhere.

I've used Bryce Brown before for purchasing old journals, but he also buys some material (http://brycebooks.squarespace.com/). There are also bookstores that specialize in numismatic literature, and auction houses that deal with it (usually rarer material though).

Also talk with David Fanning at Kolbe & Fanning (http://www.numislit.com). He's local to me, which makes it nice, but he has one of the most extensive inventories in the game. He may be interested.

Be aware that there seems to be a lot of material coming to market recently. One of the dealers (Fred Lake?) announced that they have stopped accepting consignments until they get through the backlog they already have.

My father has them. I'll take pictures this weekend.

Good quality material. I'm sure you can find a buyer for all of this.

This isn't even close to touching the tip of the iceberg. There are shelves and shelves full of theses. Years and years of entire editions.

I'm not sure someone would pay for the old grey sheets, but the rest looks either collectible or useful as reference. Is there a catalog of the numismatic library?

I would separate the material into books, journals, auction catalogues, and magazines, and tackle each category individually, unless it's already grouped by topic (such as if there is a large amount of material on a specific series, etc.).

My father is still alive and kicking pebbles. Once he stops kicking rocks and I read through it all then I can start to sell. For now though, I can educate myself.

Good idea.... Well, other than looking forward to selling off Pop's possessions that is.

The Breen book will be easy to sell on eBay, as will the Garrett collection book. Old journals you could group by year and try to sell, but there's not as much demand. Magazine-stand magazines (Coinage, Coins) are pretty much not in demand unless there is some Article of Importance in them. One possibility if you want to make it all go away is donating it to the ANA's book sale.
