Cool. I either return as bagged loose coins, or as rolls. Bagged is certainly easier for me, however I have to wait 2 weeks for the money to come back into my account. At one point that mattered a lot. Now that i'm searching about once a month max, it means a lot less to me.

I fully agree that dimes are a pain to re-roll...

I've got a credit union nearby me which I am likely to join this week or next. They have a coin counting machine. The "bagged" policy is an absolute pain to deal with. I like to rotate my money. I search pretty much every day, so this matters a ton to me. It's the main reason why I effectively closed my BofA account and opened one at Wells Fargo. BofA seems to do everything they can to discourage the use of coins in my experience.

I do pretty well with LOOMIS nickel roll searches. I usually search 8-16 rolls per week. In the past six months I've found about a dozen silver war nickels (more than half of them 45-P for some reason), a half dozen buffaloes, and one liberty V nickel. I've also found a few Jefferson key dates such as a 38-s and a 39-s (the 38-s was AU/BU). For some reason, it seems like feast or famine with nickels. I can go weeks without finding anything interesting, then I go through a good period where I find something good almost every week (I'm currently in a good period right now).

LOOMIS seems to be the most "feast or famine" vendor in my experience. My famous two LOOMIS boxes brought me 207 pre-60s including a 38-D, 38-S, and my AU 1939-D (the latter two coins are in my current avi). Prior to that, I hadn't done all that well with them, and nor have I since.
