eBay raw coin average price are set. Single piece $135.00, two pieces set $270.00, four coins $540.00.
Since dealers have to buy it from eBay. The retail price should $170.00 each.

I got mine in the mail this week. They are quite nice. Going to put the extra set up on ebay tonight. Got a $10 coupon offer from ebay if I list a collectible item before September 5th. :)

Just curious. What was wrong with them? Just overall quality?

I would bet Cascade was being facetious.

So one of my S's has spots! :bigtears: One to the right of Liberty's head and one under the date on the edge of her dress...

I called the Mint to check on a possible exchange but they cant guarantee anything since there is no inventory available. Should I send it back or keep it? Once I send it back, if there are non available through cancellation or unreconciled orders, they just refund the money and that's it, the medal is gone... Even though its potential value is higher, it was only $35.

I also sold the other two already :banghead: FullSizeRender.jpg

You're stuck with it unfortunately. Don't even think about sending it back. Sell it Now or think, like I do, these have a good shot at becoming even more valuable in the future. Sure, the spot will cause it to sell for a touch less most likely but still close to what others sell for at the time of sale. Oh well. That's the game we play with hot mint products. Some people get 70s and some get spots or scuffs. Luck of the draw

I'm debating if I should go on ebay and grab another one. I would pretty much be re-buying the one I just sold...

Here's the deal. If these do become an annual series they won't make them with such a pitifully low mintage again making these the keys in what could become a very popular series. If that happens we could be talking huge prices for them in 10yrs.

It's the exact same design sans denomination,etc..I purchased the gold coin from the mint and promptly returned it. IMO it's the ugliest depiction of Liberty that I've ever seen. It looks like an emaciated mannequin and whatever is around her head reminds me of the Bride of Frankenstein

I ordered a couple of these just because they were something a little different. I didn't notice it before, but I think your description of the medal is right on the money. It looks like exactly what you described. Thanks for ruining
my perception of what seemed to be a decent item. :(

It's a stylized representation of Liberty, not a fertility goddess.

I stand by my own opinion -- this is one of my favorite depictions of Liberty. I even like it better than most of the "beloved classics", although part of that may be novelty's allure.

When I first saw one of these, my first thought was this is a pattern strike for the 2017 ASE replacement. 30 years have passed for the current design, so it made sense to me until I heard about the new run of Silver 1oz Medals. Knowing how the Mint can surprise us, I,ll wait until next year for the real news.

I think liberty looks sexy actually. The wreath crown did give a medusa feel at first but it's grown on me. And that bird is amazing. Overall very good designs. And just like any art you can't please everyone.
