The fields are reflective and the devices are frosted. With morgans proof like and deep mirror proof like coins are very early die state.
I'm really getting to like AU Morgans. They've got a touch of commerce on them and a lot haven't inflicted Liberty with bag marks. Great find !
The 1888 S doesn't have much of a difference in price, book wise from AU 50 to MS 61. So a nice AU 58 made the most since for my Morgan collection.
I still prefer NGC registry. Both PCGS and NGC coins. Hugh prefers it too. And hey, I can always make separate registry sets for every series.
Recent junk silver purchase for $14.5/face. I always like getting silver proofs and nice VG Barbers for junk prices.
Thanks. Actually, my incompetent photography accents the spots. The coin in hand looks much better with the spot above the eagle the only real distraction. In hand, the color is golden. What I need is a decent camera setup. Can't quite figure out which way to go. But I can make a proof look like an extra fine on a bad day.
