When I go to the stores (VONS and Ralphs) first thing I do is check the Coinstars... There's a CVS next to the VONS which I also check when I go to the latter. Most days, I am checking 3 machines.

I can check 5 grocery stores every day on my drive home from work. I should try to be consistent.

Just not FYI, I told the old lady it was silver because she looked at me funny for offering her a dollar for her change.

Went to 6 coinstars, one cent that was mangled was all i got. Are there better times during the day or week to look?

I'd guess around lunch time/in the morning since people are probably in more of a rush and are less likely to spend their time checking the reject tube.

I work at a supermarket doing overnights, coming in right as the store is closing is how I've come across all my coinstar finds. If you're going out of your way to check it will take lots of patience because usually the tray is empty. I've found five silver coins in 3 yrs checking that machine 5 days a week on avg. August has been good to me though, yielding 2 silver dimes

Well, the six coinstars are all lined up pretty nicely on my commute to and from work. I'll just get consistent.

I have found silver in the morning and the afternoon. Around 4 in the afternoon. I guess it depends. The main Coinstar I have had decent success has been one that is surrounded by 55 and over communities. The end of the month and in good weather. It has been a hot summer so maybe that's why I figured it's been a lil slow for me. I will be checking tomorrow and hoping for my first silver this month. Gotta keep my streak going.

Thank god for June! Nice totals even discounting that month though

Occasionally only. I do about 50 bucks a month of halves. Nothing of note in a long time.
I think there are a few Half searchers in my town because I get a lot of rolls that appear to be previously searched. And when I travel, which is often, I have difficulty finding halves at all.

I took a two month break from CRH. I'm back full throttle as of last week. Sometimes you need to take a step back to move forward. You were on a hot streak there for awhile.
