I've never noticed or even cared about die cracks before, but I was checking out some non-display worthy morgans I had in a tube, and found a couple with some uber long die cracks. Just thought I'd share
I really like die cracks. Gives a coin personality. Look at Shield nickels sometime. Lot's of them have extensive die cracks.
@hotwheelsearl Die cracks are very common on Morgan dollars. It takes 130+ tons of striking pressure to produce a Morgan. Chris
I love die cracks!! To me they add a lot of character to a coin. Here is a 1950 Washington Quarter I recently picked up. Here's the cracked mapped out in red.
The 1886 is VAM-1E2. http://www.vamworld.com/1886-P+VAM-1E2 and the 21 is VAM-51A http://www.vamworld.com/1921-P+VAM-51A I love die cracks as well.
