I have a set of dollar bills that seem to have an error on it I’m not sure if they are worth anything they are in a series however all three back plate numbers are out of order series on front 70, 69, 68 then the back plate numbers respectively are 57,59,60
Nice notes, someone will chime in soon. They aren't from an uncut sheet, which would be the first thing to look for.
You can find out if they were cut outside the BEP from an uncut sheet by checking the serial numbers at: http://www.uspapermoney.info/general/webs.html. Look for the uncut sheets by serial numbers and bank district.
I don't think consecutive serial numbers come from one uncut sheet. You would have to have three consecutive uncut sheets to acquire three consecutively numbered notes.
My mistake. I totally disregarded the fact that they were consecutive serial numbers. However, it is possible that some enterprising person bought three or more sheets and hand cut them to increase their worth. Not saying that this is the case here, just not impossible.
This is where I was going with my comment. If they were from one uncut sheet, they would have the same last two digits.
Thank you guys for all the feedback!! I got these a few years ago from my work, we got a Garda delivery and they seemed uncirculated. Do you guys recommend I get them graded or is there not enough overall value in them to do so?
They look sharp and good paper quality. Thats all I know about paper. There are ways to check the paper quality.
Hi Timothy, Welcome to CoinTalk We do like pictures. But start your own thread to get the most views. Select the forum to post, in this case maybe Ancient Coins but What’s it Worth is fine
