I keep getting advice that does NOT work and Ebay does not want to kill their sponsored cash cows and doesn't answer questions. Any advice? Every thing someone has suggested does not work. There are several sellers that I'd just rather not see their BS when I'm looking at auctions. Thanks in advance. Frankly, I'm sick of their horse....hock.
Sadly I think you are correct. I've tried every thing suggested and it gets a rejection at the Ebay notification level. They luffs their cash cows and protect them, as despicable as those dealers are. I'm sure Ebay is aware they are hucksters but don't want their commissions dwindling if buyers can put them on ignore. Thanks for the response!
Yes. I think I asked about this before on this forum and was informed that people have to pay listing fees, which gives them the right to have their items on display. I wanted to block some sellers that were constantly listing $0.99 fake Chinese cash coins so they stopped interfering with my "lowest first" searches, but couldn't find a way to do so! Maybe someone else here knows more and will let us know!
Here's how you do it (or at least how I do it): Click that Advanced link (which they seem to make smaller and fainter with each new revision), then scroll down to this section: That little text field doesn't expand, but I've pasted in at least a dozen seller names. That worked for me -- I was usually camping on the new BIN listings, and people/companies tend to list stuff in batches, so I could just edit the list and squeeze in whatever sellers were currently spamming the category. Some, though, stayed on the list forever.
I stopped purchasing from eBay a year ago. I have no outstanding purchases in many months since then. I have made request to have my credit card removed. The same excuse each time, "Have to wait until all purchases have been resolved before we can remove the card." I even tried closing the account, still waiting! My brother CAP-PA has been monitoring my account to make sure there is no unauthorized purchases or other issues. What a bunch of "Crapola." Good luck!
Thank you. I finally figured it out, took long enough. Then I come to find out, this "dealer" has multiple seller IDs.
To be fair, though, position on that list was always less about "how terrible are your listings" and more about "how much do your listings get in my way". I think I had David Lawrence on the list as well; they have great stuff, but not much for the bottom-feeding bargain hunters like me.
Good point. It's all about the focus - if you are the first to see something cool, you can snag it before the crowd gets there! I will say, I've dealt with David Lawrence Rare Coins a lot over the years and they've always been great to deal with. This January at FUN, I finally met a few of the folks (and they cut me a deal on a coin I'd been eyeing for a while). But yeah, I check their website for stuff I'm seeking and don't need it to pop up on eBay searches...
I've had no issues with coin purchasing on eBay over the five years I have been doing so. I have several sellers I routinely visit, and if I find the coins I am looking for, the buying experience has been quite fine. Others seem to leave me alone. I do not bid there or anywhere, only buy it now sales.
There are a few Ebay sellers that are easy to recognize as soon as you see the coin picture. They seem to apply the same Photoshop settings to every picture so their cleaned coins all look to be free from bag marks, and displaying amazing luster.
I buy from eBay sellers often! Sometimes I sell on eBay too. It's just a community of people (kinda like us on the forum!) But there are some prolific sellers whose wares show up in my searches if I'm not filtering them, and it takes up my time to attribute them (yeah, I'm one of those that collects by die marriage and remarriage, so I have to look at all those details). And then there are the sellers whose coins all seem to be "Estate Finds!" I have questions! How many coin collectors are dying in your community? Why do they all leave old coins? Are you living in a toxic waste site, or is there an asbestos and lead plant upwind? Does the time you save by not generating large accurate hi-res photos allow you that spare time to go to the estate sales each week? soooo many questions
