    Hello everyone,
I usually wait until Sunday mornings to post my Saturday Metal Detecting finds but I found a Bucket list item and my first silver for 2024 with my new Nokta Legend detector and I couldn't wait to share my finds! :woot:

    Holed Flying Eagle Cent.
It's in bad shape but I will take it!

Nice finds! Have you ever found a skeleton key? I've gotten 2. Real nice finds on the War nickels also!

The adorned cross is great. Now that you broke ground and found silver in NY, you have to promise me that you will stay out of Idaho with your new atomic detector okay? Congrats.

About 6 times, broken or rusted skeleton keys.
This was my first one ever and in the best shape.

    Nice finds, Eddie.
Maybe you can get Willy to attribute those war nickels as Hennings! ;) :banghead:

Nice. Mine are copper, I think. Not brass either.

That's funny!!.. I actually thought about Willie today as I found each Nickel :hilarious:

I noticed that my new detector can find Nickels very easily. I've never been able to find so many on each hunt with my previous machines.

Today I found 11 Nickels which is about the amount I found all of last year!

Ed? What did the War nickels register on your machine as? Silver or low like normal nickels? Just wondering.
Also, funny story. I once found a Worn and bent Flying eagle cent in a " Tree Stump" rotted on the ground (of course). It was embedded in the actual wood about 2 inches deep! I will try to find it but who knows, it may be anywhere.

Nice! I finally found my first flying eagle last year, no hole but even worse shape than yours otherwise!

@paddyman98 ? While we're on the topic of "bucket listers", have you ever found a ring of any kind and found the owner? That was my bucket lister when I metal detected. It would have been nice to help someone out like you read about on Metal detecting websites with stories. biggrin.gif

I currently have a class ring in one of these 2 boxes I need to look up the information. Who knows? Maybe one day!

Not the three that I outlined.

Nice display! I knew a guy that beach hunted all the time and had multiple display boxes like yours. It was amazing to see what he found every year at the beach. I always struck out there. Too mineralized for my machine.

And there's a 3rd box with about 12 rings at the moment

    ATTENTION!
Correction - I had stated that both Silver War Nickels were 1944. After I cleaned up both of them it turns out one is 1943..
