You win. Hard to refute your last post, my fine Sir. I was surprised by the MS69 listing but I had no idea they were available for those prices, slabbed, at those grades. TY for wising me up…imo…Spark

He has won every giveaway I did in the contest forum. I been telling him for a year that he needs to buy lottery tickets.

Well, now you’ve gone and done it, Russ!

I was sitting at work today and thinking to myself.

“Self, wasn’t there some Sacagawea dollars in that estate collection you bought a few years back?”

“Yes, yes, I do believe there was.”

“We’re going to have to look when we get home.”

    “Yes, yes, we will.”

The anticipation will have to build for both of us. It’s movie night for Catherine and I. This will have to be a Saturday morning coffee adventure!

Importance and super safety from damage. Some of these deserve encapsulation, if not slabs.

I have quite a few MS63 Quarters in flips, but all proofs, silver commemoratives, Morgans and Peace are in capsules…Spark

Encapsulation? Would a coin placed into a 2x2 slip and then placed ito a non pvc holder give enough protection? My better stuff is in slabs.

It probably would, but why double up when you can just do it right once?
Changing from a flip to a capsule is the better choice. I have had to replace flips for coins for various reasons but mostly for the film splitting, or having to re-label to add info. You don’t have to change out very many at a time, but if you have a special coin and the flip is failing, cut to the chase and get it into a capsule. Do that and fuhgidaboudit! No more having to upgrade {unless the capsule cracks or gets too scratched, and I have never had to replace a capsule}.

Just make sure you get the right size for each coin.

Leave anything in slabs alone, unless you are re-submitting to a TPG…imo…Spark

Imagine if we used this much protection as teenagers! lol
Good points! I’ll have look into purchasing some of the hard round capsules. I’ve been buying slabs for different size coins and for the most part, it’s been better than slips. I’m not a fan of the clear non plastic coin holders. Tks

1/1 gets the prize and is the better example of my comment. The toning has started....although it is difficult to interpret the dark spots from the image posted but appear to be the type of toning I mean...., it is very deep struck (the eyes are a good indicator).

However, the hits on the reverse and the rub on the eagle breast and the radial wheeling mark on the obverse do it in.

There you go... I like Pie.

Well now we know, what a relief. If you want to take the time and effort I think you could easily double the 25 to 50 on ebay. You could just cash them in at the bank for the 25. You could put them in flips and look at again 10 to 20 years from now. Please let us know your final decision. I would put them in flips and look again in 10 years.

I had thought at one time about putting this lot on eBay.
After shipping fees, eBay fees and the government wanting to tax you on perceived profits... who's going to make out in that deal?
    Not the seller.

    I read somewhere e bay doesn't send a 1099 if total < $600.

Edit: That is why I said time and effort.

Glad I didn’t quit my day job yesterday. Out of the 37 year 2000 Sacagawea dollars, only a dozen were from the Philadelphia mint. No Cheerio’s or wounded eagles in this batch.

    That was last year.
That would have been nice to get a decision on it in January 2023, instead of December 2023.
I would have tried harder to sell over $600.
2024 is supposed to be $600 the threshold... it's BS.

I had to look up if any 2000-D Cheerios were discovered.
    Answer was No.
I'll dig out my 2x2 carded sacs when I get home.
When I put them away they were all MS67+, I'm sure of it :D

You are right it is BS, butremember they are only doing this "to insure the rich pay their fair share" @ $600.00, what a joke.
