Based on computer generated pictures? I will wait and see what the real thing looks like before I judge.
Golden Eagle Coins is offering pre-sale for $599 - maybe I will wait and get a graded 70 piece for a decent price. The Gold Mercury Dimes are selling around $250 for PCGS 70 First Strike. https://www.goldeneaglecoin.com/ite...-liberty-quarter-coin-original-mint-packaging
I don't know if I would consider that a decent price lol. I'll get my coin from the Mint [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I don't gamble on coins, my feeling is they will sell out asap. There's only gonna be 100,000 and my guess is the sales will be faster than the dime.
Well you could be right but I don't want to take any chances. You know as well as I do that there's a way around that household limit rule.
Flippers gonna flip. Let's see... Buy 10 gold Mercs Sell 9 of them on Fleabay for a premium over mint price Get one for free.
Considering the number of Mercs on eBay and the fact that TV sellers are still trying to unload them, I have to wonder if the flipping on that coin didn't backfire on a lot of people. There are hundreds of them on eBay.
Zero percent chance they sell out faster than the dimes. I bought about 40 dimes. I can only get about 4 of the quarters max. it will take 100,000 individual accounts to buy these, it only took 12,500 for the dimes.
Since we are talking about this series, does anyone else's gold Mercury have this "finning" issue I've been seeing? When this coin was released, specimens with this "error" sold upwards of 500$ in OGP. Mine also has this "error", just trying to get a feel at how rare or common this might be.
I have seen many people comment on having the finning issue. There was a big initial premium on ebay but that soon fell when people realized it was fairly common (i.e. supply on ebay increased and prices dropped as sellers competed to sell their coin).
Hey what do you guys think the price for a NGC SP 70 gold standing liberty would cost? I'm relatively new to coin collecting, and this will be my most expensive coin ever. I see people already doing "pre-sale" on Ebay for around 600-700 dollars. What was the crazy pre sale price for the mercury gold dime before it was released?
If you don't have a gold Merc and want one, hop over t eBay. Auctions going on and fixed prices for SP70s that are little more than the original issue price plus the grading fee plus shipping. The prices have really come down.
Good Lord I hate repeating this, but if they were struck in silver I'd be the first one on the bus. As is, I'm the first one off..........
So Now the US Mint is trying to accommodate everyone but there will be some that will not be able to get one. To limit one is pretty sad. The US Mint should have put the limit of 5 and stick with it. Of course not everyone will be able to buy 5 because of the price and I think the price from the Mint will be around 500-600 each and the mintage will be 100K. I tell you if I do or not get one, then whatever. I really don't care. The Mint will get their money and again the 2nd or 3rd market will get theirs as well.
Yea i still don't have the gold mercury dime, saving up to get a NGC 70 Standing liberty gold coin. I don't trust "raw" coins from the US mint anymore. Wasted hundreds of my hard earned student money on coins and chronicles sets and they came with scratches and all kinds of bullshit. No more buying leftover bad ones left behind by big dealers. ok... rant over. So do you think the gold mercury will go down even more? Since it seems like most hardcore collectors already have them. Will standing liberty gold coin repeat this? What you think the price range is gonna be initially? I'm hoping 600-700 for NGC SP70. If so maybe i can have some money left for a graded 2016 silver eagle...
