I guess it would have been smart to have mentioned that in my original post. Make no mistake, eBay makes rate and policy changes to get them more money from it directly. The reason they made this policy is because someone figured out that the extra amount they get from these special listings will outweigh the money saving techniques I mentioned, likely by far.

Several years ago eBay abandoned the philosophy that keeping an open, honest, community with policies driven by the people itself. They now operate with a philosophy similar to Paypal, which is do what will get them more money now, which often means tricking people into situations. It's irresponsible and professionally unwise, because of the repercussions such decisions have on the members.

Well this is a particular loophole that is a way to cut down those fees when it comes to higher priced items.

My question is how long will this last?? E-bay likes to suck
You in and then pull the rug right out from under you!
Ive seen this to many times to mention:desk:

I agree. I think this whole thing is actually an all-in-one shot to suck you in and get you at the same time. The $20 max FVF is not marketed to be a great deal. The free listings (no insertion fees) are the appeal that they are marketing, which will end up resulting in higher FVF for most listings. The $20 max FVF must have been made to cap the excessive rate in some way. So maybe they'll eventually change it to just be a lower rate after $20 is reached, but I don't think this thing I brought up was a plot to suck anyone in. In fact, I only decided to explain it because I thought it was so easy for most people to never notice.

As a major dealer in military payment certificates i could not
Stomach the fee,s and then when they bought pay-pal and made
You list them for payment that was the last straw, You basically
Take up the you no what twice!!

They our constantly making it more difficult to sell there, My
Presence there is primarily just for advertising now, I know
Several people that left permanently, But if you cant make
    Money whats the point:kewl:

Man, I wish I had known about that little trick. My last eBay invoice, before I quit selling on eBay and moved to eCrater, was a whopping $1,400. I could have saved a LOT of money had I known... Oh well, what's done is done.

I am sort of confused. I have only heard of "50 free listings each month". I have never heard about a 5 free listings. Are the "5" considered part of the "50" ?
