I went with MS 64 ....the luster and fields suggested gem at first, but I think a few of the reeding marks on the reverse plus some small scattered hits kept it just a bit lower at 64

Thats at least the way they did it before market grading. I will see if I can get some photos in a whiter appearance. The Luster is really incredible. I was deliberating with a dealer yesterday about 81s Morgans. He had three, two were in 66 slabs and the other 65. They were dull and lifeless had a haze in the open areas. I will see if I can get some more of the luster. I do agree the contact is there.

These show the brilliant luster, but I think are too bright.

Few bag marks, slight rim ding on reverse, nice luster. MS-63 cleaned.

    It’s either a MS-63 or 64. I’m going with a 63 due to bag marks.

I'm not very well-versed at grading in general, especially peace dollars, but I'll open my laptop and do a side-by-side with photograde and offer my opinion in a little bit.

Regardless of grade, that thing is gorgeous! Nice pick up!

G-dang site logged me out! I just wrote my opinion and tried my best to explain it but it just ghosted me and it's lost to the ages.

The short of it is this... Looks like between MS-65 & 66 by photograde. Your images don't show many blemishes or bagmarks and indicate that grade appropriately, I believe.

Next time, I'll be sure I'm logged in before writing any lengthy replies! Nice pick up though! You make my nickels look like clowns LOL!

I am in the 66 camp. She is the sort of coin that would get me in trouble. Absolutely gorgeous.

Since nobody has asked yet, I'll be the scapegoat. Would you be ok with saying what you paid for this coin? If you're not comfortable with divulging this just yet, that's totally understandable. But I'm sure inquiring minds are wondering.

We will just say that I paid a slight premium for the holder. But less than recent auction prices.

I think that I will leave this one thru the evening and post the grade in the morning.
We have some good guess's so far.
This is in a GEN 1.2 holder.
