Lack of 1837 Quarters Slabbed VF or XF - Why?

I've been working on a die marriage set of Capped Bust Quarters-Reduced Size (1831-1838).
I started wanting XF-40 or -45 but they appear to be tough to get in those grades (AU's cost more than I'm willing to pay).
So I added VF-30 and -35 to my searches.
And the lower VF's are accepatable for the the higher rarity numbers (5 and up).
If the ones I've ID'ed and submitted to NGC for Variety Plus come back as expected I currently have 25 out of 36 varieties),

BUT for some reason I can't figure out there are no (and haven't been) any 1837 coins slabbed XF or VF on eBay.
There are 45 raw coins.
Any ideas why? Is there something special about 1837?

Check out http://www.greatcollections.com/Series/37/Capped-Bust-Quarters seems they have had some lately.

 

1) They are scarce;
2) they aren't worth slabbing?

It's a B-1, the most common variety.

 

1) No more so than the other dates.
2) In XF they'll go for $400-600.
That's worth slabbing in my book.

 

I'm no expert, but as with the dime of the same year seems to be difficult to get in xf grades. I think it's the only variety without stars. I don't know about the quarter. I would guess not many survived in that grade.

 

Thar's quite possible.
There are some years that coins exist either in low grades and high grades but not in the mid-grades.
That may be the case here.

 

It seems to be. I've been looking for a vf to xf 1837 dime, no stars that's undamaged. Ebays had a few but out of my price range. I'm looking for the quarter as well.
