What's going on with this dime?

I found this 1988-P dime in a roll yesterday. Very weird and the copper color is very lustrous. Improperly annealed maybe (I hope) or just some kind of PMD? The last two pictures I pressed on it with my finger since it seemed like it captured the light better at a slight angle. Any and all input will be greatly appreciated as usual.

It does have the proper appearance for an Improperly Annealed planchet. Sometimes it's hard to attribute.

But I can say that if it were Environmental Exposure toning it would be darker than the tone it is showing.

looks like one of my copper washed coins ... muriatic acid with pennies and other coins. Fun stuff. I had a posting about how to do this about 3-1/2 years ago.
environmental damage would be my guess but I could never figure out Improperly Annealed coinage correctly as this one has parts that look rubbed off.

I don't think it is Improperly annealed as there would normally at least a tiny remains in some of the smaller crevices. This looks "Wiped" clean with strong acid,
although it would be almost impossible to prove ( well, except on Etsy or eBay) :)

Just toning but I do like what appears to be a thin lamination going from the R in LIBERTY to the top of his nose.

Science experiment. Soaked in copper sulfate. Then attempted brass. I've been wondering what became of that coin....
