My granny worked in one for 40 years, and she has a bunch of silver coins now! She even got a 1916 d merc one time. She has been retired for about a decade though.

All I know is the bank people dont have too much time to do the searching when theyre on the clock and finding coins on the banks time is considered misappropriating time as I have a sister who works in banking....

The best guys to ask are the employees that work for coinstar services and laundromat workers that work for laundries that still use the quarters......

When the change is recycled back to the mint from banks for rerolling aswell as recertification the mint usually screens out the silver coins before rerolling them and resending them out into the world...

The other day I went to my local bank to get $100.00 in rolled coins.....The bank teller gave me all brand new uncirculated dimes and 75% uncirculated pennies.....25% of the pennies were customer drop offs which contained 6 canadian pennies from the 70's and 80's,,,a 1970 Bermuda penny and 3 wheaties that were in descent shape....

The bring back nickels contained 2 silver war nickels out of 10 rolls and let me say those bringback nickels were the absolute worst to weed through...There were brand new 2016 nickels rolled up in the bringback nickels that already looked over 15-20 years old....

I hope your searches are more fruitful.....

yeah that is why I almost always get customer wrapped coins. I get fed wrapped ones sometimes, but don't see, to have as much luck with them...

I once got 3 rolls of dimes from a bank all 3 were uncirculated 2015 D.
Also couple of nickel & cents all came up empty. Will try again sometime. I've asked at convenient & grocery stores for customer wrapped but they never have them, or so they say.

So far, not a single person who works in a bank has responded. Maybe it is because they don't like your attitude. Yeah, go ahead and say some wisecrack about me. See if I care!

Well, my wife years ago worked for one day as a bank teller. They decided her talents were elsewhere, so they thanked her and gave her three weeks of severance. She says it was a helluva job.:woot:

I had never thought of it like that, then again I have never done roll hunting past pocket change (and two rolls of cents)

The truth is, not a great deal of loose change go by a teller in a normal day. It's mostly paper. Bags of coins go to the counting machine or are bagged for deposit and sent out for counting. I have known a lot of tellers but none have ever found anything rare. My niece is a teller and she has found some really cool paper money for me.
