Here is another one that i purchased from my friend. What do you think the grade might be for this one?
I think this coin could be a counterfeit. I don‘t like the hairdress at all, since this Part of the coin is way too sharp. Sorry, Just my two Cents and a weird feeling inside my belly
The headdress and feathers look normal to me. It was common for them to have a worn look, however I think this coin is in the AU range.
Never met an injun I didn’t like. I too believe you have an AU quarter eagle there. They are tough to grade but the fields look pretty free of wear. That’s a keeper!
I felt the same with the first set of photos. I felt much better about the piece once he posted the second set. Did you look at those?
My buddy owns a pawnshop and we put it on a scale and showed 4.19gram. Sigma was dead on. Also compared it with my 08,13 and15 side by side and everything looks great. Please explain why you think it is a counterfeit?
Can you please give me some information on why you think this is a counterfeit coin? From my understanding this forum is called coin talk so enlighten me so i can understand !!! There are no tool marks on back of the neck no spikes around the perimeter and it is not a weak strike!!!
Hi Cazador, One large reason for many is that you have it in hand, we just see a photo. a weight is important to be within a range, but not necessarily a Positive proof. If the Sigma reference is for a Sigma PMV Pro or a good XRF gun, I would agree with you easily. We can only see what is there ( NO dig ) I checked on the Chinese internet sites and there are several "graded, encased, fake coin" like yours for less than $5 to the US. I am not saying that is your case at all. I didn't reply because I could not see the details. Enlargements from several angles would have been much more decisive for all. Best wishes. Jim
