Bought A collection from an acquaintance who needed some cash can you help me with the grade on this thing. I was thinking it was a 50 not sure if it will grade straight. I’m not very good at recognizing cleaning on these older coins. Thanks for your input.
Not sure what is going on with the obverse. This line of whatchamacallit starting from the bottom of the bust to the ear and a raised line underneath the 2 which goes NE to the second star. So in between the two areas is some weird chatter.
No expert by any means, but I agree with micbraun. Some of the marks might perhaps be some kind of struck through, but the W in the right field near the cap is intentional graffiti, and it has been cleaned.
Could have been used to level a Poker table at an ole time saloon. Somebody prolly got in a fight the Bar Keep or a lady picked it up and threw it in his/her pocket. I like it, I bet it has a neat story. It could have been a cheap horse, or a saddle. Too early for a train ride out of town.
Yea. You know what? I was thinking the exact same thing. Maybe you should of said " her pocket" Not "his/her pocket.
