I was asked to make a separate thread for each coin to avoid confusion so seemingly this one is bronze? It is harder to read and still tough to photograph outside of the plastic.
Better take a more neutral background, light grey for instance. But I believe this is a Persian coin, maybe from what's now Afghanistan. 17th century? Give or take a few centuries.
Definitely has an Indian/Afghani flavor, as does the other coin he posted in the other thread. Definitely modern era though and not medieval.
Okay, I shall is there another sub forum I should be using? I don't want to be in the wrong place and bothering you kind folks.
I did some work on your pics with Picture Manager and IrfanView to make it easier for others. I'm sure some of the people here can recognize this coin in an instant. But if you can't, you should use a book. Maybe your folks had a Krause-Mishler 1601-1700 book, or a Craig (coins of 1750-1850). Or you can buy one. General books like that are not very expensive. And you don't need the newest edition for early modern coins like this one. Start leafing and looking, you will enjoy that.
Thank you for going out of your way like that. I will try google image search and your recommendations if nothing pops up.
