Neighbor and fellow snowbird brought this over today Given to him as an award from Kodak in Rochester NY. He says for something they didn’t break Some black substance on rim, no acetone yet
1/2 ounce gold bullion is currently $1,020.72. NGC lists 1989 $25 (1/2 oz) as $1,140.00 but trending downward. That’s if you agree it is MS65. Normally modern gold bullion is tied to the current gold ask price, and not too much is cared about condition or date. The NGC price listed is old. Gold jumped $12+ yesterday. Hope this helps and provides perspective…imo…Spark
I agree with you. Told him that but better that someone else agrees. If I make an offer he needs the unbiased information. Thank you
I agree. Bullion is tied to current spot. Though personally I would give a little bump to have the Roman numeral date. I like those.
My first AGE was a 1oz 1987, I think, in proof, with the Roman numerals. I got an offer I couldn't refuse when gold spiked in 2011/2012. I'll probably try to get another someday; like you, I really like that style.
I have a first year 1986 1 oz. that I inherited from my mom and my brother, successively. I, too, like the Roman numeral theme. And I agree they deserve a modest “bump” because they were a resumption of production and retained the Romans. I understand they are bullion but think of this: Why do you suppose NGC has grading listings out to MS70 if bullion grades are not important? The answer is, obviously, they are important. The ‘89 in this OP is valued over $9,000 at MS70. My GTG for it is MS67/68, and even at this grade the value is quite astounding…imo…Spark
