I am fascinated by the errors so here is one

Do you think it is something off from the mint or just wear and tear? 1980 What I think is a "P" it looks, much like myself a blob. I am just fascinated how it seems to go along the tops and bottoms of the letter in the half circle.

If you're referring to the inner loop of the "B" and "R", that is machine doubling.

In his attachment is a pic of the mint mark. The P is worn and has taken 36 years of abuse.

You need to cut down on the coffee many hours before you start taking photos.

 

You see a lot of that on coins, it's more like die fatigue or deterioration to me. Very common

 

HAHAHA I *need* to step away from these coins for a few days. Heck even when I went to play poker over the weekend I was surrounded by coins and found myself looking at them all. (We play for change)

 

Thank god for ticket in/ticket out technology in the casinos! Before then, my hands were always black.
