I posted this 1884-CC Morgan before and asked some of you if it would be worth the money to send it in for grading. Well I did, to ANACS. It came back MS63, but it came back in it's holder like this. I'm not happy that it sits at a 45 degree angle to the left from straight up. I feel robbed at how it was placed in the holder. Should I call them and raise um, cane ? What would you do ? How should I handle this ? DSC01689 (2).JPG

I would email them that photo. What you got wasn't what you.paid for and they as a responsible company should do everything they can to make it right.

Yes, call them, e-mail them and send them a picture. It just happened, so you know they have a record of your order. That is really unusual. I've never had that problem. They will IMO make it right with no problem. They might even give you a credit on another future grading.

My first thought was to call and also e-mail them with a picture. Just amazing that it was not checked first for being properly placed in the holder. Or was it ?

I would hope and imagine they would correct their mistake. Sorry, but there is no excuse for that. I mean come on. Who would want their coin slabbed like that?

I don't think those rotate like old rattlers used to but it is possible its a defective slab. You can try and tap the corner of it and see if it rights itself but they should reholder it for free not sure if they will reimburse you for shipping like some of the others do

Sloppy work. I'd ask them for a make good.

I would not be surprised if the corner tap worked on straightening it.

I'd attempt to rotate it before I did anything else. Tap the edge of the slab on a firm surface while you bring it down with a sweeping motion.

It was checked. They were laying down on the job at the time.

What I don't understand is why the OP didn't have the VAM attributed since ANACS is the only company that attributes all of the VAM's.

Call them, be polite. Let them know why you are not satisfied and ask them to make it right.

This used to be really common for the coin to rotate in the holder during shipping. Figured all the services had a handle on the problem by now. I don't think it left ANACS looking like that.
I'm almost sure it will rotate back by tapping the edge of the slab on a hard surface. It's easy once you get the hang of it.

That's cool. It's like an anacs tribute to pcgs's 30th anniversary, trying to simulate an old rattler. I would probably leave it as-is but that's just me
