I assumed that was what you meant. And I'm on the fence (I'm not sure if it is good or bad), but am uneasy about it.
Well, it was too good to be true. I wrote that I collect counterfeits so I paid $50 for this pretty good electrotype. It would not have fooled any of you though. I just weighed it...ugh! Only 4.68 grams so very light. Micrograph of the edge shows a trace of the dark seam along its center plus a "silver" colored spot where the pot metal of the interior shows thru.
The flat edge from that picture would also have been a giveaway, and it probably doesn't have the lettered edge does it?
You can post pics? ?? Full pics next time. I have no imogie' s for you as , I don't knoe how to do that?
It's easy to get one. Go on ebay, and take home 4 half cents for 40 bucks. Spend the next 4 hours trying to figure out exactly what in the hell dates they are. Get excited because you think you have an 1802. Get depressed when you find out it's actually an 1805. Cry because you just wasted $40 on coins that look worse than your ex.
No can do...Actually, I suppose I could find a way to do it with something around the office; but the honest truth is, it's too inconvenient. Sorry!
How'd you know my ex looks bad? I know but I have more ancients on my want list before I want to spend good money on a one. Hell I got some moderns higher on want list for that matter. I'll add one someday, but not a cappy one.
