There aren't any that I intentionally avoid. Some I am just not interested in because their coins aren't interesting to me.
What is it, Fiji fractional silver eagles? I think they also made 2022 Morgan and Peace Dollars. For each their own, but not for me.
I personally am not a fan of collecting coins where I struggle to read the text such as Thai, Arabic, Hebrew...
It's not that I don't want to collect certain countries, I just can't read the date. The date is an important part of my coins.
A bargain fat man exist if you are happy to pay for replicas... No such thing as bargain and genuine Chinese silver coins.
I'm the same way. Although I do have a lot of Japanese coins but they aren't as hard to decifer as Hebrew.
I collect anything that circulated and was struck in a close collar, so there isn't really anything I avoid.
I am not much different except that it doesn't have to have a collar. I don't have much of a restriction, if it's modern then I like to see remaining luster, and if it's old I try to stay away from coins that have problems/ surface issues.
I have numerous pieces from many different countries. However I don’t collect them from any country and I have no desire to. My US collection is large and I stick to it.
I don't collect modern coins that are produced to be expensive "collectibles," including the Canadian gimmick coins, the American "instant rarities," or small countries like Fiji that produce stuff just to sell to American, or other, "collectors" or "investors," like having Elvis or Micky Mouse. These, in my opinion, are not coins, they are trinkets, even if given legal tender status. One exception: I try to collect coins from as many countries as I can, and sometimes a coin from a special issue like that is the only one I can get from that country. This sometimes happens when struggling would-be countries try to raise funds by selling these, even though they do not have any circulating coins to speak of at home. I also rarely will buy bullion coins that are not really, in my opinion, collectible coins, but only if the price is low and the precious metals market is such that I choose to buy bullion. I'm not collecting those, just stacking.
I don't avoid any countries but there are some like Israel that I don't like that much. The date being tough is part of it but I just don't care for the designs much. Nowadays as I grow my collection I'm more interested in non-Western countries as opposed to Europe. I find colonies and Latin America and Asia to be interesting.
Any cash grab bullion which is basically all of it,not only U.S examples.Already have a bunch of old silver bars, silver rounds and a few gold pieces from family members.I haven't seen any coin I don't like.Even if I didn't like the design I wouldn't hesitate to buy it if it appeals enough to me.But the main thing is it has to have a numerical date not in a different language. Excluding ancient, mideval and Spanish colonial pieces, those are fine without a date.
For anyone living off the Carolina coast. If the missing one eventually blows it's (game over) for youactually true.
