Since I have scratched a lot of numismatics itches I have been looking to start a new collection. I am entering a rabbit hole of trying to get all of the Conder Tokens that depict beehives. I have a long term interest in bees. Way back in the 70s I was a partner in an apiary with 1200 hives and we sold our honey throughout NYC and Long Island. The label was Annapurna Farms. Currently I am involved with an educational beekeeping project.

I recently did a survey of the Dalton & Hamer book and I found 54 tokens and variants that depict beehives. There are also twelve contemporary counterfeits as well. Below is the first entry in the collection. I have seventeen others and one of the counterfeits.

    Wish me luck.

1793 cambridgeshire half penny.jpg Here's one I have. The beehive side is the same as yours but the other is different.

Very cool! My son keeps hives on his property in NC. This gives me an idea...! :singing:;)

I quick check shows that I don't have any Conders with bee hives but I do have a German and Swedish medal with them. Just posting hoping that you enjoy them.

The bee population around my area has dropped to about zero this year.

    Cool Conder token.

Besides the Conder tokens I have also thought of doing the same thing with Civil War tokens. But I can only go down one rabbit hole at a time. I do have other coins with beehives and/or bees, as for me, it is an area of topical interest. Your medals are very attractive and interesting. Thank you for sharing and broadening my knowledge.
