    Almost looks identical but they have a tiny bit more of the 8 in the date showing. The photo you posted looks like a cud, it’s raised. Mine is not raised. It looks like that section of the coin is cut and removed but I see no signs of PMD. I really don’t know what to make of it as I thought all cud’s were raised to fill in the void. Am I missing something?

    Waaaaait a minute - are these the same coin? Can two coins have the exact same issue like this? I'm genuinely asking because I know next to nothing about Cuds

    When part of the die breaks off, every coin struck after that shows the same defect (error)
    It can get worse until they stop the machine.Some get trashed but others get by quality control

    And I do as it’s in my possession. I just don’t understand why mine has the cud area lower than the surface. I thought all cud’s were raised.

    Yes, usually raised. Looks raised in the the photo u provided. Maybe it came off? Hmm?
