1944-D Mercury dime. The reverse is propping up the grade on this coin. The obverse shows weakness, probably due to a worn die. Because of that I like the coin at MS-65.
Picked this girl up a few weeks back. Half forgot I had it. Was in a ziplock on the kitchen table under a bunch of mail and other stuff. Small date small letters Anyway not great pics but a nice au with great skin
@ToughCOINS I had been looking for a nice EF-Au one for a while, when I saw this one I had to have it. PS Less that $80.00 don't tell anyone.
@ToughCOINS You make me look at the NGC auction stats, and I see one went for $228.00 in November 2023. Personally I think it was net graded due to the mark by the chin, still a nice coin. IMHO
Happens to the best of us, same thing happened to me last week with this coin: Coin actually looks way nice in hand. I won it for $7 total, fees and shipping included. I bid on it as I wanted to compare the original reverse design to the coin I have in my type set (which has a special reverse), but I didn't think I would actually win it for $2 + fees. Oops
Two nice original pieces I actually bought to give away. (See my giveaway on the Contests forum, or the link in my signature line, if you're interested.)
