I try to set the target price low as we often have YNs that participate who might not have the money, but I may up that target next year a bit as it's often exceeded. I'll also try and be on top of things a bit and start the sign ups a little earlier. The deadline to sign up essentially has to stay around the first week of December so I can get recipients sent out and people have time to shop/ship their items. The postal service is iffy this time of year so I like to allow for ample time.

From my records, everyone has a gift or it's on the way for those that haven't received one yet, so don't worry.

Thanks everyone for your participation this year!

If you haven't already posted your goodies, please don't forget!

I'm sure I could co-ordinate with you to pair up with someone who also does/is interested in ancients or early moderns. I could easily include U.S., but I know nothing about them, other than older is better.

There's a year to see which ma-shops/vcoins dealers have both ancients and moderns under one roof. Numiscorner could *probably* get it there on time. Order-to-door is generally about 1.5 to 2 weeks.

There were some pretty cool gifts here. My personal favorite was the Santa bar. Well done, everyone! Merry Christmas to all!

I'd guesstimate that the average on numisforums was about $75 (I'm not suggesting that here, just reporting what happened there). I don't think there was a set minimum, although past years' introduction posts have said the average was $50. The pairing time was a little late this year, around November 1st. We have until Dec 24th to get it to our Secret Saturn, although the 17th (when Saturnalia begins) is encouraged.

Everyone had fun and was satisfied, so there's no need for big adjustments. I had just asked because I didn't know.

Santa hit a home run for me! As noted, I like all things silver, and 1881S Morgan Dollars are at the top of the list. I'm working on a grading set of 81S Morgans since the strikes are usually solid and they are relatively affordable. Thanks so much, Santa!

I'm able to do a little tweaking in the recipients in this regard if I know before hand. I try to accommodate all participating Santas preferences.

Great run of gifts this year! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.

Shockingly I didn't get anything numismatic related as one of my gifts this year, but it was a wonderful day with family and friends. One funny thing happened though, my girlfriends mother is Chinese and has a difficult time with my name Kirk and we were all wondering how she would spell it on my gift...Well it was spelled Turd o_O

And an interesting assortment of world coins (there's even some Hungarian in there). I'm going to have fun attributing these with my sons.

Got my ss gift tonight. Thank you so much!! Absolutely right. Not my collecting focus but LOVE getting silver for Christmas. Only thing better is gold. Or platinum. Or diamonds. Lol. But not expecting that here. Anyway thanks for some really attractive silver coins IMG_6344.jpeg IMG_6343.jpeg IMG_6345.jpeg IMG_6346.jpeg

Particularly like the Phillipenes one being made during WW2 and the fact they were occupied by Japan and liberated in 1944

The Judaea piece is actually a coin I had on my wish list as the Jewish war pieces have started to fascinate me more and more! Thanks Santa! 132A9B91-BC6D-4AF0-9110-FAF5532083CC.jpeg

Hello everyone! I finally got some time to go in depth on what I got from Santa!
Santa did a very good job of wrapping up my gift and including a nice written note with it!

First off a got a 1855 large cent. I attributed it to N-4, which is a normally common variety, but what makes this coin special is it's die state. I identified it as the Grellman die state B, making it an R-5 coin!
(This die state has only 46-60 estimated survivors!)

Here are some photos of the coin.
Note the super cool die cracks between letters on the upper reverse.

I also received a nice 1920-P walking liberty half dollar to add to my silver stack, and some Intercept cardboard holders for some of my slabbed coins!

    Thanks so much Santa!
