Ultimately, if there is no good way to determine what is real from what is a fake, I'm out. The market is destroyed by this sort of thing, and value in coins goes away. Same for the WW2 German metals and other junk. I was never into that since the amount of fakes is overwhelming and takes too much attention. And never really cared for that particular genera of collectibles as they were making fakes before the last shots were fired and it's really, as Austin Powers would say, not my bag baby.

Fakers will capitalize on the fringe, novice collectors with money, passion, but not real expertise in details. If you destroy the market with a flood of fakes, then why bother?

Yes there were fakes maybe not before the last shots but close. The personal Japanese good luck flags were being faked by CBs to sell to other sailors before the ink on the surrender docs were dry. The German is faked more by the power of 100. They even used the same dies as in the Steinhower und Luck dies for the knights cross of the iron cross. It gets into when the dies cracked and had the flaw. I sold mine before the collecting community decided mine was a post war.

 Next time you post a video, please try to find one where the guy at least knows as much as you do. You do know the difference between a Penny and a Cent - right? ;)

Well I do know that in America cent and penny are used interchangeably. I am not that anal retentive as to really care about insignificant details of English and American coin verbiage. When someone tells me when I say Yams that you know sweet potatoes are not Yams blablabla. I only see someone who you could not pull a pin out of their rear end with a tractor. But that is me.

 My annal friends :bookworm::cigar: just use words like "uneducated" or "ignorant" to describe the Internet's "Johnny :clown:-come-lately:spitoutdummy:-:bucktooth:wannabe's " who influence :yack::yack::yack: their :grumpy: indifferent :jawdrop: and lazy :dead: fellow collectors.

:jawdrop: :vomit: BTW, I don't ever think about people's butts. :stop: Please don't tell me more.

:nailbiting: LOL, :D I'll Pass. This awful :grumpy: curmudgeon :troll: troll was born to wolves' and educated at the Attila-the-Hun School of Insensitivity :jawdrop: way before the :bigtears: feelings or opinions of snowflakes became tolerated. :D

Nevertheless, Happy New Year and don't let any of those thick, gray, underweight, granular fake dollars fool you.

A happy New Year to you also. I could not wish for a better post. That dear reader is exactly the point! It is hard for me to resist but this reply might be clearer without faces and colors.
