Same here, that doesn't mean I haven't shaken it a couple times. Sounds like an old rattler slab.

My mom has given me coin gifts nothing special. I did give my nephew a Silver Eagle after he achieved Eagle Scout status. A Silver Eagle for an Eagle Scout is what I wrote on the card.

My mailman and post office has been so bad I now have packages delivered to my work office instead of my apartment. I've been dealing with theft as well. The other day I got a Christmas card with a $250 Amazon gift card in it. Idiot mailman leaves it on the shelf below the mailboxes instead of putting it bin the mailbox. I filed a complaint with USPS.

I got mail delivered twice this whole week. Once at 10:30 pm. Once at 6:30 am. And it was mostly all garbage. A couple bills. A check from a customer that took almost 2 weeks last week my roommate got a package and i got a hardware order I’d put in several weeks ago. They’re beyond worthless. I send absolutely everything ups or fedex. That way I know it’ll get there. And the cost basically the same. Sent 2 packages. One to the Midwest one to Louisiana. Cost was $14 for one 19 for the other. And both as big or bigger than a large priority box

December 25th has arrived! So here's what was in my package.

It was quite an assortment, so no wonder the package was rather heavy!

    Inside was:

    (3) world banknotes (Ireland, Zambia, Jamaica)
    (4) Depression-era tax tokens (Alabama, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Washington)
    (3) copper rounds/ingots (a bronze San Francisco mint medal, a Capped Bust copper round, and a rectangular bar with a scene from Diamond Head, Waikiki).
    (7) World coins including silver (an 1867-BB France 20-centimes, a 1969 Bahrain 50 fils UNC, a 1973 German 5-Deutsche Mark commemorative, and four Arabic script coins, one of which I recognize as Egyptian due to the portrait of King Farouk)
    (2) keychain ornaments (a mother-of-pearl turtle and an Asian looking segmented fish. Both were immediately regifted to my daughter since I didn't have any stocking-stuffer stuff for her- just gave her money. She liked them.)
    (1) US flag decal

All in all, an interesting lot. My favorites were the Capped Bust copper round, the German commemorative, and the little French coin.

Thank you, Secret Santa from San Diego!

All the little elves are still snuggled in their beds so I seized the opportunity to tear into my package.

The envelope was covered in cool old stamps. I know a young man that collects stamps so this envelope will be going to a youngsters stamp collection.

My secret Santa included a card with a Venn diagram (had to look that one up!)….. He saw that I am primarily a US collector that has recently… Well let’s just say “diversified…

I got nine coins NINE!! That were minted in the US for other territories/nations. The Panamanian piece with Balboa is uber-cool!

Balboas are fun. Struck by the US mint on US blanks, so that 1/4 Balboa is a silver quarter in disguise.

I like the Philippine and Cuban stuff, too. Particularly the Philippine 50-centavo. They are lovely coins. Despite my years in World coins, I didn’t know those Cuban “star” types were struck in the USA. But it does not surprise me to learn it.

Even today they are pretty much the same. The 10th and quarter coins will work as dimes and quarters in US vending machines.

Yep. The modern ones show the same clad “sandwich” layers on the edge.

Coins minted for other countries but minted in the US are really a neat subset to have.

Thank you Secret Santa. I must have been good this year.

The 2 Christmas rounds are cool. I like anything Christmas, especially if it has a Santa Claus on it. The silver round is similar to the ones put out by the Franklin Mint but I don't see there mark. It is marked .999 so that is impressive. Really impressed with the hobo nickel and the graded buffalo. Santa outdid himself.

    Thanks again.
