Hi, I have sat on this "wheat ear" for a bit. I was wondering if the doubling demonstrated in this coin makes it valuable, rare, and/or one-of-a-kind. The cent reminds me of the 1955 Lincoln in how dramatic and spread out the letters are double and the date. There appears to be an extreme doubling on the obverse of the coin in "LIB" of Liberty, "4 & 1" in date, "God", "W" in We, "R, U, & S" of Trust, with possible doubling on T's of Trust. On the reverse of the coin, there is also doubling noted at "E Pluribus Unum", "O & N" of One, "C & E" of Cent, and at the "top of the Right Wheat Ear". Please see the attached pictures. What do I have here? Thanks In Advance, Brandon.
Wow. That sure is very interesting. I'm thinking double struck in collar. 2nd strike slightly rotated. Your pictures are great.. Very Cool! Let's see if @JCro57 is around to attribute it!
Welcome, Brandon! Nice find. I'm no error specialist so I will defer to the opinion of those above, but it's definitely an interesting piece. Also refreshing to see someone who's got a legitimate error coin instead of something damaged.
