The coin is not a variety or an error of any kind.
Before you ask, no I did not submit this coin to PCGS.
Whoever summitted the coin obviously thought it was something, because they even paid extra for TV's. :hilarious:

The coin may or may not be straight graded, its up to you to decide. What would you grade this coin?

XF45, maybe AU50. The burning question is... why?!?

That's so ridiculous, it's a keeper by virtue of its hilarity alone. :hilarious:

At least it's a copper cent, and not a Zincoln... :p

I'm in at AU50 either environmental damage or corrosion.

    That seems a likely explanation.

What I see is Die Abrasion (Overpolished) on Reverse causing a Floating Roof and slight missing FG. The TPG's don't recognize that issue.

I am at XF. Probably someone who posted it here, didn't believe and spent good money to try and prove us wrong.

AU53 Not sure why money was spent grading this, but those fees far out numbered the $5 cost of the TrueView.

It only costs $5 for Trueview?

I could care less about the slabbing part, but the coin photography services would be useful.

Ok, it looks like it has been about 24 hours.
Looks like a few people guessed fairly close.
    PCGS graded it AU-50.

Sounds about right. So they forgave the little green specks and gave it a straight grade.

Yes. The specks and light scratches are hard to notice in hand.

Aha, so you own this gem, then? You said you didn't submit it, but you somehow acquired it?

    That's a keeper!

I say that only halfway in jest. A collection of "stuff nobody should have submitted" would be a fun collection theme.
