    Guess I have to get my rock tumbler out and charge it with some Silver Eagles, ceramic buffer pieces, and fine grit! ;)

    I recall seeing an old thread about putting coins in a rock tumbler that led to, well, let's say some interesting reactions.

    Keep it by itself (we want wear, not marks) in a side pocket. Back pockets don't work. Not enough motion unless you are a dancer.

    Back pockets actually work much better insider ;)

    Insider, it is a Miss Manners violation to poke fun at somebody's backside.:confused:

    I'm serious not :confused:! I've never heard or seen a back pocket used to wear down a coin. I guess you were just making a joke or DO back pockets work better? :nailbiting:

    I've been carrying this coin nigh on 8 years now.......maybe longer. One thing though.......I carry a lot (I say, a lot) of change in my pocket so maybe the extra pieces, along with the keys and pocket knife, act like a rock tumbler. :)

    It does look cool but not $495 cool. I always thought worn coins were a part of history and showed that history in a cool way. I guess I was wrong. Or maybe not.

    Throw one in there before the next Tour De France and I'll bet you'll see some progress

    I have to agree honestly..... If I was doing a "low ball grade" collection or however you wish to call it, I say that would be a highlight. I think it's neat to see it that worn.... that modern of a coin with that ware..... if that coin could talk.

    @GDJMSP Don't you carry a 1 oz gold eagle?

    (Bonus points if you like this post...)

    I'd pay 20$ for it, no problem.

    No, I don't carry one any longer. This one was the last example, there were others that preceded it. This one was sold to another forum member several years ago.
