My wife and two adult sons surprised me with this wonderful Saturnalia gift. I had to wait until today to open it so we could all be on a zoom call together. I believe it's a very nice example and an upgrade to the one I already owned (i'd wager they spent way too much on it,, but I'm not complaining).

    AR Denarius
OBVERSE: ANT AVG III VIR R P C, Praetorian galley, thyrsos behind prow
REVERSE: LEG VIII, eagle between standards
    Patrae 32-31 BC
    3.2g, 17mm
    RSC 27
From the St. George Collection, March 1997.

And, for comparison, my other example:

My youngest son, named Marcus Antonius, knows my obsession well. I'd bet he was the driving force behind the selection of coin. He's also the only one even remotely interested in my collection, even though my wife tries to act interested. However, you are right. At least there was some thought put into this gift.

@Bing Of course, after I said that, I did end up with some numismatic Christmas gifts this year.

The 2 silver rounds came from my in-laws. They are both Alaska themed. The other 2 gold coin "tributes" came from my mother. She saw me eyeing them at a coin show. They will require a little more research to figure out exactly what they are.
