    That's awesome, Mat .... ahaha

I have a long-necked example, but it must just be a pygmy version?

You need to go to a Lone Star to get true "long neck" I guess Bub dropped the shape as I have not seen one in some time.

Some Aurelian coins opted for broad shoulders instead.

I think this emperor had some kind of decease a long neck, maybe caused by incests in the family, same like for example Achnaton and king Tut. long face :))

What if the die-engraver had astygmatic vision, and depending on which direction he was holding the die when he engraved it, he either lengthened or widened the emperor's visage? Sort of like looking through a fun-house mirror while carving the portrait? (or, he had an odd-shaped magnifying glass...)

Or... the die engraver's supervisor was a time-travelling Soviet production supervisor. "We must fill up flan with 90% portrait, 10% legend. Oh, no, head too small. Must make up difference with long neck, yes? Good."

A little later: "You there. Yes, you. Legend only take up upper half of flan. What to do? Fill up space with shoulders, yes? Make big, very big, like Dallas Cowboy. Oh, I see, you don't know Dallas Cowboys. Too bad. Make big like Hercules. Good."

As Emperor Palpatine, a colleague from a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away might say: "The shoulders are STROOOOOONNNNNGGG with this one."

(Sorry, I think it's too early for me to be serious about anything)
