Would you grade this coin

Thanks insider! If the biggies did as much as you and ICG does , they would charge
$80-100 and send it back with little to no explanations, Keep up the work levels.Do you know how long it takes to clear everything after teaching college science for 55 years? Well, I don't either as I am still doing it after 1 month. My paper shredder died the first week but replaced it and then my printer 2 weeks later. Had 100 or so College Science books, but the public library didn't want them so I donated most to Womenhaven for their students-adult study groups. Yeah, I am a lucky guy!!! When I get all done I will send you some coins myself . Have a good Christmas. Jim

A/U with details, cleaned

 

I'm a lil slow but Welcome to CT! as for grades and grading well some of the experts have already chimed in and said anything I would say and better lol

 

My eye early this morning saw that and then just looked right past.
That type of corrosion is on one of my ancient bronzes. Ribbon to Rim. Right?

 

Thank you all for the great input - I really appreciate it. For those of you who are saying it is cleaned, can you tell me what to look for that is telling you that? I totally am willing to believe that - I just don't know how to tell.

 

Me either really. After looking at thousands of coins on Ebay though, I'm quickly learning a skeptical eye. Something about a harshly cleaned coin just kind of screams "not right" now. It's just too polished looking even if there are no detectable scratches. If it is worn down a bit, and still shiny AF, it's been cleaned, and I don't mean "restored" to just get a small amount of gunk off of it. Oh and, I'm not referring to your coin, just in general.

Know what an original genuine coin looks like. And that folks is the "nut" of authentication and grading. Using images alone is not enough.

 

The coin has an odd look to it. It does not look right through the word "LIBERTY" on the headband. It might have something to do with the lighting in the photograph. The coin appears to have been cleaned.

Here is a genuine example which is graded MS-64 that you can use for a comparison.

That my friend. Says exactly what I can’t often explain in a post. Often it’s nots what’s wrong with it. It’s what’s not right with it

 

I'd like to get a bunch of coins graded, not high fallooting Stack Bowers types. I'm leaning towards ANACS. But I see we are afforded the discount with the forum discount with another grading service. Thoughts? Sometimes it's just getting a 3rd party opinion with hands on opinions up close and personal. Photos can be deceiving. Thoughts? I think ICG? is the one we have available to us?
