Man this year has been kind of slow. 17 v nickels. And some where around 50 buffalo nickels. It's a little bit disappointing...

Why do you have no hope of finding a shield nickel? They were only discontinued 133 years ago.

383842s44p44s2.jpg 383842s44p44s2rev.jpg 60 rolls of nickels today from 3 different banks yielded me 4 War Nickels and a couple of 38 Phillys amongst 30 pre-60s. A nice way to start August!

Thanks! Believe it or not, that's my 3rd 42-S I've found in 5 1/2 monts. Out here on the West coast, we tend to get more S minted coins than the rest of you. The crazy thing is that I'm still looking for a 45-P!

Here in the Beast I find lots of '45-P coins, but I did get a '47-S in change the other day at the grocery store.

Box of CWR today, dud dud dud, all zincolns. :spitoutdummy:

And you probably find a ton of 43-Ps, I bet!

    I've found a couple of 42-Ps, 8 43-Ps, and 4 44-Ps. I know I'll find that 45-P sooner or later.

I feel your pain. Living just north of Boston, most of my coins are Philly mints. Finding nice San Fran and Denver coins are a challenge.

Want to trade? I'm missing 5 silvers, all D and S coins. I've got a bunch of spare silver nickels. All circulated, but I do have more than one extra 45-P to choose from.

Send me a note if you are interested. :)

I probably have hundreds of silver P mms, a few less S mints - it is the D mms that are little stinkers to find anywhere. I have completed my Whitman from circulation, including the '39-D and the '50-D but I think it was either the '43-D or '44-D that was one of my last coins to find - last year.

Other than the 38-D, 39-D, 43-D and 50-D, I don't have too much trouble finding the D mints. Even the 42-Ds show up pretty frequently for me.

When I completed my original collection from circulation 30-ish years ago, the last coin I found was the 39-D.

That's what I've heard about people in the Northeast. Finding the scarcer Philly nickels (the 1950 and 1955) is particularly challenging out here on the West coast...

I'm always open to trading provided I have quantity...

I actually have plenty of 45-Ps... just looking for one for my set completed out of CWR finds. Just am needing to find the 38-S, 39-D, 43-D, 45-P, 50-D, and 55 Philly to complete it.

    Oh. OK then.

I'm still trying to fill my first set. 7 more to go, 5 of which are silvers. All of my empty slots are D and S coins.

    Oh, which dates? I'm guessing 39-D, 42-S, 43-D, 50-D, and 3 more silvers... am I right?
