Pile of change in the Walmart CoinStar this morning. A handful of foreign from South Africa and Madagascar, a few copper cents, some nickels, dimes, and quarters. No silver, no wheats -- except one 1943-P steelie. I grabbed some of the foreigns for my daughter and the steelie for future reference, and left the rest for someone who needed it more.
I'm in a Coinstar slump... at one store yesterday a man was dumping his coins... was hoping to get something... only thing that stayed in the reject bin was a 2009 Canadian quarter. I found a penny in one machine out of 4.
Two coinstars produced a total of... 3 quarters 2 nickels 4 cents 3 dimes, one of which is silver, a '56
Had to make a trip up to the Safeway to get dish detergent. Wasn't going to bother with the coin machine since I haven't found anything lately, but changed my mind and am glad I did - '63 cent, woo hoo, but a '57-D dime also!
Found another clad dime over the weekend in the Coinstar. Totals for the month 1.28 cents Plus 2 Silver Dimes
Not a Coinstar find per se, but apparently I was given a 1979-P Susan B as a quarter and didn't notice till I got home and started going through my pocket change.
14 cents in regular old modern boring spaghetti haired coinage and a 1938 Jefferson and... a silver quarter, and not just any regular ie 1964 silver quarter but a circulated proof 1995-S
I found 2 thrashed "Zincoln" pennies today in the machines of 3 supermarkets. Also found 3 dimes and 3 pennies in the parking lots and in the checkout aisles. So I'm .35 cents ahead!
