CoinCorgi Tell your dog I said hi!

I want to start a "I slab your coin so your money ends up in my account" service that declares the coin either authentic or counterfeit/fake/BS (exact terminology TBD). Can I get some investors please? Send me money now and you'll get 10 free CorgiSlabs-R-Us coupons good for a 1-cent discount on future services. Minimum investment is 10-cents.

Free Moose crossovers for the first 6-months.

All the talk of stickers reminds me of several sticker scenes in Better Call Saul

I want to see the stickers you're using before I'd spend a penny.

Buying the coin and not the slab has never become more realistic. I have noticed a few things concerning slabbed coins on tv recently:
-One channel was selling the 2023 Morgan and Peace Dollars in the new grading NGC started, you know the same used by comic books. To me they charged more for a X10 graded coin then a graded Seldon grade 70. Does NGC charge more for a graded coin on the X scale? I don't know.

-There is an initial release I think it is called on CAC graded coins, and of course for the label to designate something (can't remember) stating it is in the first batch of CAC graded coins it costs more money.

-Rick stated on his show they will be using only the Sheldon Scale. NGC is probably not going to like this.

They may as well all say QUACK for the attention I give them.

This. I have a few CAC-stickered coins, and I'm OK with that one sticker being on there (though it annoys me when it covers any lettering on the label). But I don't seek them out, and have never submitted any coins to CAC.

I have a stickering service, too.

It's a paper green dot sticker with a letter "N" written on it in purple crayon.

Only $30 per sticker. It's a deal compared to these other stickering services, don't you think?

Hey, if I had a premium Korean coin, I'd consider it.

Well, you see, my service applies to pretty much any coin, as long as I deem it to be "Numismatic."

Which is what the "N" stands for.

Sure, you have a graded coin that is appropriate for the grade [green sticker], even or high-end for the next highest grade (or even finer) [gold sticker] and will sell for 80%-90% higher than without one, but have I deemed it to be "Numismatic?"

If not, you are missing out on an amazing opportunity.... for only $30~!

    Talk about overkill lol.

I think one sticker is enough. I would rather buy coins than stickers anyway.

    LOL

What a deal, relative to paying a TPG (i.e. third party grader) for a more expensive time consuming process where the grader doesn't supply a grade, or one less than fine (i.e. 10 maximum), for an "uncirculated" coin

When do we get the slab grading company that slabs the slab?

  18. -jeffB

    -jeffB Greshams LEO Supporter

No, no, they're not really slabbing the slab, they're slabbing the sticker on the slab. You know, to certify its condition and protect it from damage.

By the time we get to slab-sticker-slab-sticker-slab-sticker-slabbing, lead times should be long enough that we won't really have to worry about where the sequence ends. The person waiting for the slab-sticker-slab-sticker-slab-sticker-slab will pass in his/her sleep, and the heirs will crack-crack-crack-crack and take the coin to the bank.

I thought the same thing when watching that show recently!
I just finished the series a few weeks ago and I thought they wrapped things up really well.
