Congrats, Randy. It's a nice set.

If you're not ready to give up this hunt, you may find that there is another coin that's not included in your set, a 1942-P Proof Jefferson Nickel. You could also expand the set to include the currency made exclusively for WWII, the highest denomination is $20.

In the words of the laurate poet Blutarski, "Nothing is over until WE decide it is!"

Nice set. As the wife and I went to vote yesterday there was an older gentleman, bent and slow, also there to vote. He thanked all the ladies (all volunteers) that were running the operation. As a veteran myself, my ears perked up when he started to talk about how years ago, he'd signed up for the Army and fought in WWII. The ironic part, and even he chuckled about it, was that when he had completed his enlistment and was discharged from the Army, he still wasn't old enough to vote. (Voting age didn't drop from 21 to 18 until 1971). I wasn't about to ask, but I just wonder how old he is now, and just how young was he must have been when he enlisted.

Those kids flew B-17's at 19 & 20 years old. I know one who jumped into Normandy and Market Garden, fought in the Battle of the Bulge and the drive through Germany. He had 4 Purple Hearts. He got home late December 1945 and wasn't old enough to buy a beer on New Years Eve. However, I think the current generation would step up to the plate if we needed them.

This is awesome Randy. It almost pushes me to convert from "Working Coins" to "MS" - almost.
