    Could this be a Steuck Through Capped Die Error? With something else happening? 20231023_213657.jpg 20231023_213709.jpg 20231023_213721.jpg 20231023_213756.jpg 20231023_213741.jpg 20231023_21_39_22.png 20231023_21_38_51.png 20231023_21_40_18.png 20231023_21_40_08.png

I try to be but I'm not perfect :angelic:

I saw this thread yesterday but I was not totally sure what it could be.

It does have an awesome Die Crack on the Reverse side.
    On the C of CENT.

I would say it is more likely to be a Struck Through Debris error than struck with a Capped Die. Mostly due to the snake-like abnormality that I have not seen on a coin that was stuck with a Capped Die. A capped die usually strikes the blank smooth surface of a new planchet which pushes the metal on the Cap toward the perimeter of the coin/die in a smooth and even fashion until design details show through it. I believe that zinc is just to soft to form a ridge on the cap that could make the snake-like depressions into the coin it strikes. JMO

This is interesting. I’m thinking struck through something but probably not a die cap unless it folded over onto itself in some fashion. Almost looks like struck through cloth but no pattern from material.

I lean more towards a capped die early to mid stage. Neat find Larry.

I think it’s struck through a very thin late stage capped die

New information has been received and processed by me and I now think the OP's coin is a struck with Capped Die.
