Thanks to all who entered the first three giveaways. Now on to the fourth!

    Here are the rules:

    1. To enter simply state "entry post." Only one entry post per member, but you may select another member to receive the prize.

    2. Tell the forum why you like the coin, post something coin related. A pet picture will always suffice if you don't have the first two things!

Entrants must have 25 coin related posts.

Contest is open to all CT members. Free shipping to the winner, domestic or international.

Please do leave a message once the coin has arrived!

I'll draw the winning entrant on the evening of November 5th using a random number generator based on entry order.

For our fourth installment a small silver rial from Iran. Barely missing gem grade, the coin exhibits a bluish gray toning more in line with the true views. Nice that the slab has all the info on it as well. As you can see, this is a poorly struck issue overall, with the obverse of this coin looking nice compared to some I've seen. Only one graded higher at PCGS if that's something you care about!

Thanks for another generous and great contest. Here is a coin that also traveled in ancient times in Iran.

I'll jump in on this one. Thank you for the contest!

My old granddaddy was an oil man in Iran in the 1970's. He passed some years back. My grandmother passed two years ago and had a little snap purse of coins which I inherited. Inside that little purse were two coins from granddaddy's time in Iran that were worn to almost nothing and this was one of them:

Entry Post. Well as the drawing day (5th November) was the Birthday of my Mother, who passed away 4 months ago, it would be co-incidental to have my number chosen. A coin from Iran is not something I have in my collection, so to have an example would be great. Many thanks @Joshua Lemons for a generous giveaway, Good luck to all who enter.

Entry Post. I am so grateful for these contests - my first love is World Coins. But why are there so many?

Agreed! I finally chose to focus on one country/time period. It has allowed me to allocate my money in a way to get really nice coins that I would never have gotten before by throwing my money in all different directions. But, I do stray occasionally.

I like that the lion reminds me a bit of a dragon with the symbol (sun?) in the background.

    Thanks for the chance!

I studied Farsi and if I tried really hard, could be relatively conversational in no time. Can read and write also, which would be really helpful if I could ever travel there. Would love that coin, thanks

I do not have a coin from Iran, but somehow I do have a coin from a neighboring country (Pakistan).

I want that for my younger brother. After seeing what I got in the mail this week, he really wants a slabbed coin, and this one's silver!
Here's something I picked up recently at a LCS:

Hooray to @Joshua Lemons for this great series of contests. All certified coins! Woohoo!

This is my entry post- give my chance to @NLL, please.

This ca. 1817 Persian gold toman of Fath Ali Shah represents Iran in my collection.
