Good ones Bing, just a question you or one of the other members might be able to answer, how can you tell the difference between the 463 BC Drachm and the 500 BC Drachm that I own? the examples I have seen don't have to many clues.

I'm not an expert on these, but there are others here who, if not experts, know much more than me. I do remember a discussion about the hand and fingers of the nymph giving clues. However, someone else will have to explain.

Nice work you Bing and stevex6 while I slept, to wake up and find it is all in the hand. This is the trouble living in AUS when you guys are active I am asleep and Vica Versa. Although stevex6 seems to be on CT a lot do you sleep steve? or play with your coins all night.

No one else will play with him, so he has to play with himself. Isn't that right little brother?

Thanks guys the more I look at these Nymph Thasos coins the more I like the open hand one rather than the claw, it looks like she is going to slap him with it.

Sorry I don't have any expertise on these but believe the claws are older and the open hands are in the middle. Late ones show more of a perspective view with more realistic bodies. On these she has thrown her hand around his shoulders and seems more agreeable to being carried off. There are small denominations without nymphs but the happy couple comes on drachms and staters.

I don't have an open hand middle coin.
