And this is why I don't use tape inside the shipping box. What I really hate is submissions that come to me with coins in flips that are securely taped. I do not like getting a knife close to your coins, but sometimes I'm left with no choice.

One of my brain stimulating games is Bridge, where I'm occasionally called upon by a Bridge playing organization, to substitute for a missing player.

I had not played with this group before, but when a "vulnerable" opponent excessively bid 3NT, I "doubled" him to ending the play with his team being "down five, vulnerable", a very unusual condition, costing many points.

He stated "I don't know what happened"!

I explained that he had just experienced a "GROSS SENIOR MOMENT", which usually improves future playing for most.

Join us/the "Old-Timers" who see this happening with greater frequency in our advanced age.

It could be worse. In the days before slabbing became common, I heard a story about a guy who was cutting into a cardboard coin mailer with scissors…

In the old days PCGS would re-holder one of their coins for $10 at a show. The last time I had it done, it cost me $50 with shipping going only one way. It was a $1,000 coin.

You are not alone. We all have our goof ups. Try not to be so hard on yourself. Maybe you can use it as an excuse to go to a major coin show for direct reholder submission to PCGS.

Well, I'm a little late to this thread, but there are so many great responses that I want to contribute.

Randy, there's nothing "plain stupid" about it. In my world we call it "fancy stupid".

Maybe try buffing it out with a loofa??? ...unless you're too aloof for that...;).
