Any coin dated prior to 1960, all 1971 no mint mark coins in high grades, Uncirculated coins which are 20+ years old, and any 2009 dated ones.

If you're lucky, you'll find some War Nickels (dated 1942-1945) which contain 35% silver, some Buffalos, along with some key dates... If you want more specifics on dates and mintmarks, let me know...

    Good luck!!!

Thanks John77. What is your average of war nickels per box?

Have a good dump plan and don't get mad if a bank won't let you dump. They don't owe you that privilege, especially if all you're doing with them is dumping. Remember that Coinstar often gives 1:1 if you get a gift certificate from places like Southwest, Chilis, Amazon, iTunes, etc.

War nicks, buffs and older, key dates, semi-key dates, proofs.

Because he wants to make sure that he doesn't get any with your greasy fingerprints on them!

@cpm9ball Makes sense. My bacon fetish does have its negative sides.

    Customer rolled or fed rolled?

Always try Customer. Fed doesn't hurt now and then.

You're welcome... it's exactly 1 per box... 31 found to date in approximately 62,000 coins searched.

I've had much better luck overall with machine wrapped coins than customer wrapped... the customer wrapped ones tend to have the old coins pulled out most of the time, though you will more frequently find older Uncirculated stuff in them like the pricey 1982 and 1983 dated coins, for example.

Though most of us have other ideas about Coinstar now... Hopefully I'll find something good again in one of their reject bins soon!

    Good day. I found
    1, 1940 nickel
    3,1941
    1.1948
    1,1952 s
    1.1953
    1.1958
    1.1959
    1.1960
    6.1961
    4.1962
    1.1963
    1.1966
Any Idea how much that worth.

A lot depends on the condition of the coins. Uncirculated pre-56 dated coins typically go for $1 or more.

That said, I'm guessing these coins are all average circulated... Assuming your 1958 coin is no mint mark, it would be your best coin... but only worth about 25 cents, the 1952-S about 20 cents... the 1959 about 15 cents... The rest of your pre-60s are worth about 10 cents each... The 60-63 coins about 7 cents each...

why 2009? PCGS price guide doesn't show any unusual price deviation for those

Lowest mintage Nickels in 51 years. Actually, PCGS is usually not a good place to go for prices on modern raw coins... use the Greysheet... A roll of BU 2009-P's will run you around $60, 2009-D's $13.

No way... I think I might actually have some. Or maybe theyre 2010. Either way, I have several seemingly mint rolls of nickels

If you do, consider yourself very, very fortunate. The '09-P's are very difficult to find in circulation, especially on the West coast.
