Here's a somewhat unusual depiction of St. George, standing instead of on a horse. Germany, Mansfeld, thaler, 1547. De May 668 28.5 grams
Here's one more mid 16th century thaler, again with St. George standing, with a banner. The dragon, resembling a small dog, seems to be gnawing on a knee - obviously a candidate for obedience school! Germany, Leuchtenberg Landgraviate, thaler, 1548. Davenport ECT 9370. 29.02 grams
A recent addition for me. Magdeburg. Anonymous Bracteate ND (1192-1232), 0.57gm. St. Maurice and head.
Aelfwald I, King of Northumbria who, following his murder was buried at Hexham Abbey, where he was revered as a saint. A sceat in his name.
