Yes. That’s just a handsome 1982 Small Date. I’d keep it, it’s a nice one.

The only way you can get big bucks for a very high grade zinc, copper coated cent is to get it in a PCGS MS-68 or higher holder. That is nearly impossible to do. Even after you get it, you need to find a place to sell it. That would take a specialist dealer or a major auction.

I have been a collector for over 60 years and was a dealer for 15 years. The modern coin market is very exacting. The grades have to be dead on correct, and you have to hook up with the right collectors or dealers. What you are looking to do is turn something that is quite ordinary into something extraordinary. That is very hard to do.

I see all the glitter, but I also see what looks like wear on Abe's shoulder/arm and across the top of the Memorial. It looks like the luster is completely gone in those areas.

I'm not seeing a business case for paying $$ to slab an AU Zincoln.

I think it looks MS but not above a 65. JMO.

The surface is a little bumpy. It’s hard to tell if it underwent a little acid or that’s just the way the planchet plated. Try and make out the bow tie, it shows clearly, right there. I think it’s every bit MS, though, FWIW, just not as high as you’re thinking.

Sure do, and I'm wearing them. They won't let me see alllll the way over to where you're holding the coin in your hand, though; all I have to go on is your photos.

The latest photo you posted makes it look like the area I was questioning has full luster. Yay!

Is it a 68 or a 69? I'm not your guy to say. Good luck!
