    It's a blank. It's not a planchet until it goes through the upsetting mill.

    Not sure.. Does it stick to a magnet? If it does then it's a punched out piece of metal from an electrical box.

    I see that but on the first picture.. too many scratches and weird lines and markings to be a Blank.

    What coin was he supposed to be getting in change?

    Perhaps a bored individual sanded a coin down...

    On my scale it weighs 5.7. But, will bounce to 5.6. Saying it is lighter.
    It is slightly larger than a clad quarter.
    Probably because it didn't make it to the upset mill
