I have had this one for awhile, finally photographed it today. Post your high and low leaf Wisconsin Quarters if you want.
I hate these varieties. Looked at what feels like 100,000 quarters over the years looking for them - impossible. Thus, the hate! LOLOLOL
That makes two of us lol. Every time I notice a Sconny quarter in my pocket change I check.. only for the inevitable disappointment :/
I live in Wisconsin, and I've never found one! So, if anyone wants to donate one of each variety to a Cheesehead, I'd be willing to take them off your hands! LOL!
I dislike them because if I recall correctly these were a smuggle job. Admittedly I’m getting old and might have it wrong.
No. There were far too many made to have been stolen and no reason to believe and no evidence any were. Their manufacture appeared to require at least two people, probably three, to have occurred since they were made on a press who's operator had gone to lunch after shutting it down. It was run while he was gone. I doubt the production of these two coins was in any way at all "official" even though it occurred as interest in the states quarters was beginning to flag, but they were not made to profit an individual. I would call them grossly underappreciated and semi-official mint type coins. They would have been so much more interesting if they had not been discovered before they were much better distributed. I can only imagine the stir they'd have caused if there were one in every box released by the mint and they weren't discovered for months after release.
I shouldda noticed that that doesn't look right. It's a nice strike but the extra leaf looks like a line with no texture at all.
