Couldn't pick up the blue toning in the left obverse field very well, it's pretty strong under light. Quite a few die chips on the wheat stalks!
Real nice. We see this a lot on this T. We had a discussion on it a while back, don't recall we figured it out. Looks like chips, but rather odd place for them...
Same obverse die confirmed by the same linear die scratch in the right obverse field in front of the nose. The first one I found I set aside because I thought it was scratched. Then out popped one with the same "scratch" - closer look and was surprised a bit. Pretty darn cool to find these in the same roll! I'll post the coins separately below, they're pretty cool toners.
Some of my favorite fluorescent green toning from 55S! I own a few that look similar to this, one even slabbed by IGC. I didn't think I'd see one again and got a surprise thanks to some old OBW rolls!!
The obverse die mate to the above coin - obverse linear die scratch match. I'm a poet and didn't know it!
@Cheech9712 One thing I'll never do is question someone why they bought or like a item that they share here on CT.
This closeup was from your coin, of course. We've quite a few of these. I think the first one I've noticed was on one of our steel cents, a 1943. They're typically on the vertical leg of the T in CENT, as here, and nowhere else. Your chips on the ears makes sense, and there are of course a lot of those out there, as well. Wondering still why these only form on that T, mostly along that vertical leg, and nowhere else. That's very odd.
